Andrew Street’s
Since being on the taxis Andrew has clocked up over 200,000 miles.
In 2007, he was convicted of exceeding the speed limit – while off duty – and had committed a red traffic light offence some five month’s earlier. He was fined £120 and had a total of 6 penalty points
added to his licence.
Hackney Carriage licences are reviewed annually to check the suitability of drivers. Because of Andrew’s penalty points, his case was referred to the hackney carriage
licensing comittee.
Recently he was stopped by
a Police Officer at the road
side and issued with a fixed penalty notice for speeding. This took the penalty
points on his licence to 9.
Andrew rang the Road Safety Partnership and organised his 1-hour assessment and paid for it over the phone using a credit card.
Andrew passed the assessment and sent his certificate to the Licensing Committee.
